About Rayobyte

We've been around for 10 years, but don't let that fool you - we've still got that startup energy. Things move fast, plans change, and we pivot a lot. Sometimes we build, break, and then rebuild again all before lunch! It can be chaotic, and that's not for everyone. But if you love a bit of organized chaos, constant evolution, and the opportunity to really make your mark, you'll probably love it here. And it's an amazing place to learn, grow, and do meaningful work.

What is the challenge?

Massive scale & sophisticated data

Forget about maintaining scrapers for simple, high-traffic sites. We’re engineering creative, outside-the-box solutions for the internet’s most sophisticated platforms at a massive scale.

  • The Scale - a distributed infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and bare metal servers.

  • The Volume - handling millions of requests per hour and complex traffic patterns.

Leadership & Ownership at Scale

We’re looking for a DevOps / Infrastructure Team Lead who will take full ownership of our infrastructure and act as a technical leader within the team. You’ll work with ~10 developers closely and collaborate with another Infrastructure Team Lead (managing up to 5 engineers).

We operate with two Team Leads to ensure leadership redundancy, continuity, and stability. You’ll partner with the existing Team Lead to co-own infrastructure decisions, align on architecture, and step in for one another when needed (PTO, sick leave, high workload periods).

This is not just a hands-on DevOps role — we need someone who can lead by example, create structure, and build redundancy at the leadership level.

What mindset do we need?

  • Autonomous and decisive – able to make infrastructure decisions independently and take responsibility for them.

  • Leadership-oriented – comfortable mentoring engineers, reviewing solutions, and raising the technical bar.

  • Automation-driven – passionate about eliminating manual work and building self-healing systems.

  • Performance-focused – experienced in optimizing infrastructure for high throughput and reliability.

  • Long-term thinker – able to design infrastructure that scales sustainably

What will be your impact?

As a DevOps/Infrastructure Team Lead You will:

  • Act as infrastructure owner and technical authority for DevOps decisions

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team

  • Ensure redundancy and continuity in infrastructure leadership

  • Review architectural decisions and guide long-term infrastructure strategy

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable Continuous Deployment pipelines

  • Automate infrastructure scaling based on load and demand

  • Improve server provisioning, configuration, and optimization

  • Manage Dockerized environments across cloud and bare metal

  • Maintain and optimize our Elasticsearch and ELK stack

  • Monitor system health and implement proactive alerting

  • Optimize Linux servers for high-throughput traffic

  • Collaborate with developers to improve deployment and reliability

  • Propose and implement infrastructure improvements and automation initiatives

Who will be the perfect match?

  • 3+ years of Linux system administration experience

  • Proven experience in a Team Lead or Senior-level role with ownership responsibility

  • Experience leading technical decisions and mentoring engineers

  • Proven experience working with both cloud providers and bare metal servers

  • Experience managing distributed infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of Docker and containerized environments

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines or similar)

  • Experience with VM autoscaling (e.g., DigitalOcean or similar)

  • Experience maintaining and optimizing Elasticsearch

  • Experience with ELK stack (self-hosted)

  • Ability to write and review Bash and/or Python automation scripts

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP stack and server networking fundamentals

  • Experience configuring and optimizing load balancers

  • English – communicative level (B2+)
